González is an Afro-Latino American dancer and choreographer, from Boston, Massachusetts, González began dancing at a young age, starting at Boston Ballet's City Dance outreach program. In 2001, he enrolled at the Roxbury Center for the Performing Arts, followed by the Boston Arts Academy, a visual and performing arts high school, where he received the Boston Arts Academy's Dance Award and the YoungArts Merit Award from the National Foundation for Advancement of the Arts. During his training, González participated in programs such as the Boston Conservatory Summer Intensive (2006), American Dance Festival (2004), Bates Dance Festival (2005), and SpringBroad Danse Montréal (2010 and 2011). After graduating high school as a dance major, he received the John Ross Award in 2007 for Theatre Excellence and went on to receive his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Boston Conservatory.
As a full-time performing artist, González has toured and performed nationally and internationally with companies such as Anna Myer and Dancers, Deborah Abel Dance Company, Prometheus Dance, and "A" Major Dance Company. He has also danced with Collective Dance projects and groups, including DMB|#DBdanceproject, Putty Dance Project, Dance IQUAIL, Zoé Dance, Danza Orgánica, WaheedWorks, Boston City Ballet, and David Dorfman Dance. Additionally, González was a performing artist with Philadanco! (The Philadelphia Dance Company) for 8 seasons, and served as the Artistic Director of Philadanco's youth ensemble “D/3”.
Currently in his 4th season with Complexions Contemporary Ballet, González is also the Resident Choreographer and co-Artistic Director/Founder of Jo-Mé Dance Arts Inc. His work has been commissioned by various institutions, including Bryn Mawr College, Rowan University, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, The Philadelphia Dance Theatre, City Dance Conservatory, and more. A former dance professor at Temple University and Georgian Court University, González continues to perform, create work, and co-direct Jo-Mé Dance Theatre, while creating more opportunities for Artists in the Boston and Philadelphia areas.
